Saronic Sailing Adventure – Culture, Food & Hidden Gems

Our Saronic Gulf route isn’t just about sailing – it’s a deep dive into authentic Greece, shaped by ancient history, unforgettable food, and real local connections. Here's a taste of what you’ll experience:

🏛 Epidaurus – Ancient Acoustics & Dinner Under Orange Trees

Visit the UNESCO-listed theatre of Epidaurus, the best-preserved in the world. Its legendary acoustics allow you to hear a coin drop on stage from the very last row!
After exploring the site, we’ll have dinner in our favourite family-run taverna, set under blooming orange trees. The owner – a strong Greek woman – makes this place especially magical.

💧 Bonus: We anchor just outside in a bay with a sunken ancient city, perfect for snorkelling directly above submerged ruins (1.5–2m depth).

🏺 Aegina – Temples, Pistachios & Dancing

Climb to the Temple of Aphaia, one of Greece’s architectural wonders, perched on a hill with breathtaking views.
Explore a family-run pistachio farm, where you’ll learn why there's only one male tree for every 100 females. In the evening, enjoy live bouzouki music and learn the Zorba dance – it's always a night to remember!

🐟 Perdika – Moussaka, Tzatziki & True Greek Hospitality

This small fishing village is home to our close friends Kalotina and Notis, who run a taverna that feels like family.
Mamma’s moussaka is legendary, and the tzatziki with homemade yoghurt might just change your life. Truly one of the warmest welcomes in Greece.

🏞 Secret Harbour – Nature’s Best-Kept Secret

A tiny hidden village nestled between mountains, with space for only 10 boats and just one taverna – no shops, no crowds.
Locals have protected this gem for decades. It’s often called the most beautiful anchorage in Saronic, and we’re proud to share it with our guests.

🌋 Methana – Hot Springs & Wine Tasting

This sleepy coastal town offers natural volcanic hot springs – perfect for easing tension, back pain or stress.
From here, we can visit a nearby boutique winery and try award-winning wines from the Peloponnese.

🌅 Poros – Dorada, Hiking & Pistachio Ice Cream

After the best grilled dorada at Mike’s Taverna, enjoy a scenic walk to a hilltop chapel for one of the best views in the Saronic Gulf.
Finish the day with locally made pistachio ice cream – you’ll want it again the next day.

🐴 Hydra – Donkeys, Sunsets & Labyrinth Streets (weather-dependent)

No cars. No noise. Only donkeys and quiet beauty. Hydra’s sunset rivals Santorini’s, and its unique architecture – designed to confuse pirates – invites you to get pleasantly lost.
At the top, meet the monks in a hilltop monastery and enjoy one of the most peaceful moments of your trip.

🌊 One Last Secret…

And then, there’s our final secret harbour – so shallow that Zorba Cat is the only boat her size able to enter.
No tourists, just a quiet beach, local fisherman, and one honest, rustic taverna. This hidden paradise is shared only with those who sail with us – and we’d like to keep it that way. 😉

Highlights of route

Ancient Theater & Sunken City – Epidaurus

Visit the best-preserved ancient theatre in the world (UNESCO-listed) with unreal acoustics, snorkel above submerged ruins just off the coast, and enjoy dinner in a taverna nestled in an orange grove.

Crystal-Clear Bays & Secret Swim Spots

Every day brings a new swimming spot: cliff jumping, snorkeling over a shipwreck, exploring sea caves, or floating among colourful fish in wild, untouched bays.

Volcanic Hot Springs – Methana

Soak in natural healing springs like the gods once did. Perfect for easing back pain, stress or just letting go of it all.

Secret Harbour – Hidden Paradise

Only reachable by those who know – no tourists, one simple taverna, a quiet beach and a friendly fisherman. This is real Greece, untouched.

Poros – Greek Island Charm

A town built on a hill, surrounded by pine forests and volcanic rock. Great food, local shops and postcard views make it a Saronic favourite.

Temple of Aphaia or Poseidon

Ancient wonders with sweeping views. These hilltop temples are a must for lovers of history, mythology and timeless architecture.

Hidden Village & Slow Life

A tiny harbour with room for just 10 boats, one incredible fish taverna and a vibe that forces you to slow down, breathe, and just be.

Vineyard with no tourists, real food, deep wine, and even deeper joy

Local Winery Experience – A Night to Remember

A few years ago, we added something truly special to our sailing adventures – and it quickly became a guest favourite. We take you to a small, family-run vineyard growing award-winning wines in rich volcanic soil. This is not a tourist attraction – in fact, we’re usually the only visitors.

Your host, Nektarios, is a warm and hilarious character who guides you through the family’s winemaking process – including the bottles they age at the bottom of the sea for a unique flavour. His wife, Giota, who speaks only Greek, prepares a homemade dinner using fresh ingredients from their garden.

During the wine tasting (more like wine drinking!), each of the 7–8 wines – white, rosé and red – is paired with a specially selected dish. It’s the best food & wine pairing we’ve ever experienced, and many guests say the same.

If the mood is right (and it usually is), the night ends with live Greek music, dancing, and Zorba under the stars. You’ll leave full, happy, and glowing – with a memory you’ll talk about for years.
